Akio Suzuki | Rolling Stone - 23.6. - 8.9.2019
Opening 22.6. 4 pm

The Japanese sound artist Akio Suzuki works site-specific with the nature of Møn as material - from an acoustic perspective. The legendary sound artist has performed, building instruments and presented sound installations for almost 40 years.
His music is simple and clean, exploring how natural atmospheres and sounds can be exploited and then released. Experiencing his art is losing oneself in the sound that surrounds us.
Suzuki plays on a number of unique self-made instruments, including an Analapos - an instrument he invented in the 1970s that echoes through the acoustic transmissions of a spiral line stretched between two metal cylinders and the flute (Iwabue) inherited in his family for many generations.
Suzuki has collaborated with artists such as Toru Takemitsu, Takehisa Kosugi, Derek Bailey, Peter Brötzmann, Steve Lacy and John Butcher
